BW 3200 - Summer 2012

Roll 2 from my long awaited film pick up. This roll was shot during the summer of 2012. These were shot during a few different climbing outings. Some pics you can make out a couple different people clinging to the granite walls of LCC.

BW 3200 - Winter 2012

Sometimes it takes me a bit to pick up film from the developers. I've posted a group of photos I snapped while on a couple of different ski days last season with Mike Schneider. It feels good to get shots back from a photo lab. They provide a more timeless and authentic feel that is extremely tough to relpicate with digital cameras.

Click HERE to enjoy a few sample pics from the roll.

Lenticular Clouds Over Mt. Superior

Those clouds danced all morning over Mt. Superior in the coolest light I've ever witnessed. You can see ridge line shadow being cast against the darker clouds in the background. I sat and watched this for about 20 minutes and must've snapped off dozens of pictures, after all was said and done, this was my favorite... so I watermarked the shit out of it.

R@ndom

The shots that are least expected to turn out, are the ones that do. Brody seconds after stomping a decent sized air in the backcountry, while wearing sunglasses.

"What's In Your Bag Photographer Guy?"

I've recently been asked a by a few people what I've got in my pack for shooting. Depending on what my day consists of, or what I plan to go shoot, the invoice within my Cilo Gear 30/30 backpack varies slightly. Above is what would drop out of my bag if you stopped me mid shoot. I try to go as light as I possibly can. Pretty much your basic touring kit, add camera stuff. This scenario happened to be while I was getting ready for a day of shooting video.

1. Cilo Gear 30/30 - It's light, durrable and all the straps can be altered on the go.
2. Climbing Skins
3. Manfrotto Tripod
4. Outdoor Research Transcendent Down Jacket (packable)
5. Pieps Avalanche Beacon (this gets put on before I leave the house)
6. Extra Batteries (AAA)
7. Gloves (one liner pair, one leather pair)
8. Medical Tape
9. Lighter
10. Ski Strap
11. Emergency Blanket
12. Anon Goggles
13. Lens Cloth
14. Nikon D7000 or D300 (varries)
15. Nikkor 17-55
16. Nikkor 70-300
18. Nikkor 10.5
19. Water (either a bottle or a 3L bag, sometimes both)
20. Assorted GU's, Gels or granola bars
21. Shovel
22. Probe
23. Avalung
24. Outdoor Research Paladin Jacket
25. Beanies
26. Sunblock/Chapstick
27. Buff Headband
28. My red trucker cap

After everything is included and strapped down, this little bundle of joy weighs in at roughly 20lbs.

One day in the Wasatch, doing some soul searching and skiing Utah Powder with Brody Leven.
